By material system

Choose the grade the application has to survive

Alumina for insulation and structure, zirconia for wear, silicon carbide for extreme temperature, silicon nitride for strength at temperature under thermal cycling.

Al₂O₃

Alumina

Alumina is the workhorse of industrial ceramics: high purity and high strength with excellent electrical insulation, and it holds its shape and surface at the temperatures used in photovoltaic, instrumentation and power equipment.

High purity gradesHigh mechanical strengthExcellent electrical insulation
Material details

ZrO₂

Zirconia

Zirconia combines high strength with wear resistance and a fine ground finish, which makes it the material of choice where a ceramic part has to survive abrasion, impact and repeated mechanical duty.

High strength and toughnessWear resistantFine ground surface
Material details

SiC

Silicon Carbide

Silicon carbide is selected for the most demanding thermal and abrasive duty: high-temperature service, thermal shock and aggressive wear, where few other materials hold their properties.

Very high service temperatureThermal shock resistanceExtreme abrasion resistance
Material details

Si₃N₄

Silicon Nitride

Silicon nitride keeps high strength at elevated temperature together with thermal shock resistance and low weight, which suits moving parts, high-speed duty and thermally cycled equipment.

High strength at temperatureThermal shock resistanceLow density

Custom engineered ceramics

When no catalogue form fits, the part is engineered from your drawing

Grade and formulation, geometry, tolerance, surface finish and inspection are agreed against the operating conditions, then proven on a sample part before batch production is released.

Send us the part, the drawing or the duty it has to survive

Tell us the material grade you need, the quantity and the operating conditions. Our export sales engineering team reviews the requirement and returns a quotation with the material and process route.
