FORM 04

Ceramic Plates

Flat plates and substrates where flatness, insulation and wear resistance decide the part.

Advanced Industrial Ceramics

On a plate the critical dimension is rarely the length or the width — it is flatness, and over what area it has to hold. A plate that is flat over its whole face is a different part from one that is flat only where something seals against it.

Holes, slots and edge treatment are cut or formed before firing, so their positions and the thickness tolerance are fixed early. Both are easier to hold when they are agreed before the tooling is made.
