Applications

Our ceramic components are specified where an operating condition decides whether a part survives: high temperature, corrosive media, abrasive contact or a requirement to insulate electrically while doing mechanical work.

Industries served

Nine industries, one materials question

In each of these industries the same question decides the part: which material system holds its properties long enough in the conditions the equipment runs in.

IND 01

Photovoltaics

High-temperature process equipment where ceramic parts hold their shape and keep the process clean.

Industry details

IND 02

Instrumentation

Insulating bodies and precision parts inside equipment that has to read accurately and stay accurate.

Industry details

IND 03

Medical Devices

Precision parts for instruments and equipment where wear, corrosion and cleanability all matter.

Industry details

IND 04

Watch & Electronics

Small precision insulators and structural parts for compact, high-value assemblies.

Industry details

IND 05

Abrasives & Cutting Tools

Parts that sit in the path of abrasive material and are bought against a replacement interval.

Industry details

IND 06

Energy & Power

Insulation and wear components for equipment that runs continuously, hot and often corrosive.

Industry details

IND 07

Construction

Wear parts for mixing, conveying and handling equipment working in dust and aggregate.

Industry details

IND 08

Machinery & Hardware

Components for production machinery where metal wears, galls or conducts where it should not.

Industry details

IND 09

Automotive

Components for production lines and tooling where uptime, not unit price, drives the decision.

Selection guidance

What to tell us when the duty is the unknown

Four pieces of information are usually enough to select a material system and propose a process route.

  • State the peak operating temperature and whether the part is thermally cycled.
  • Name the medium in contact — molten metal, acid, abrasive slurry or clean atmosphere.
  • Say whether the part insulates, seals, guides, slides or carries load.
  • Give the dimensions or the drawing, with the tolerance and surface finish the fit needs.

Send the duty, not only the drawing

If the part keeps failing in service, tell us how. The operating condition usually points to a different material system rather than a different tolerance.
