Al₂O₃

Alumina Ceramics

High-purity alumina for insulation, high-temperature containment and structural duty where strength and electrical isolation have to hold at the same time.

Advanced Industrial Ceramics

Alumina is the most widely used of the four Vintel@Ceramics material systems. It offers high purity and high mechanical strength together with excellent electrical insulation, so it works both as a structural ceramic part and as the insulating element in equipment that combines high voltage with high temperature.

Alumina is supplied across the catalogue part forms and as custom parts built to drawing. Grade and purity are selected against the operating environment rather than fixed by a single stock specification.

Part forms we make in this material

Each form page carries the parts we have photographed, the tolerances we work to, and what we ask before quoting.

FORM 01

Ceramic Tubes

Straight and stepped tubes for high-temperature processing, insulation and conveying duty, supplied as-fired or precision ground.

FORM 02

Ceramic Crucibles

Shallow and deep crucibles for melting, sintering and high-temperature containment where contamination must stay out of the process.

FORM 03

Ceramic Rods

Solid and bored rods for structural, insulating and wear duty, machined to the diameter and length your assembly needs.

FORM 04

Ceramic Plates

Flat plates and substrates for insulation, support and wear surfaces, held to flatness and thickness requirements.

FORM 05

Ceramic Rings

Precision-ground rings used as sealing, guiding and insulating elements, with the bore, wall and chamfer finished to drawing.

FORM 07

Ceramic Insulators

Insulating components for electrical and thermal isolation in equipment that combines high voltage with high temperature.

FORM 08

Ceramic Wear Parts

Wear liners, guides, bushes and contact parts that extend service life where metal surfaces abrade, gall or corrode.

FORM 10

Ceramic Balls

Spheres held to diameter and roundness for valve, bearing and milling duty, supplied as-fired or precision ground and polished.

FORM 11

Ceramic Discs

Machined discs with concentric features for seats, wear faces and rotating duty, finished to the drawing on the functional face.

FORM 12

Ceramic Structural Parts

Machined blocks, brackets and spacers that locate, support or isolate inside equipment, built to your drawing and inspection points.

Made to your requirement

What is defined with you before production

  • Wall thickness, bore and length defined to your drawing.
  • Chamfers, radii and seating faces specified for the assembly.
  • Surface finish selected against insulation, sealing or wear duty.
  • Grade selected for the operating temperature and the medium in contact.

Supply stage

Sample part first, then batch production on the same material and process basis. Ask for the material data sheet with your quotation.
