Silicon Carbide Ceramics
Silicon carbide for the most demanding thermal and abrasive duty: very high service temperature, thermal shock and aggressive wear.
Material detailsFORM 08
Liners, guides, bushes and contact parts that outlast metal where surfaces abrade or gall.
A wear part is bought against a replacement interval. The useful question is not which ceramic is hardest, but what is actually removing material — sliding abrasion, impact, galling against a mating surface, or corrosion that softens the surface first.
That answer decides the grade, and it also decides the fixing: a liner that is clamped can be a different material and thickness from one that is bonded, because the loads go into it differently.
