ZrO₂

Zirconia Ceramics

Zirconia for wear duty: high strength and toughness with a fine ground surface that holds up under abrasion and repeated mechanical contact.

Advanced Industrial Ceramics

Zirconia is selected where a ceramic part has to survive abrasion, impact and repeated mechanical duty rather than only temperature. Its combination of high strength and toughness with a fine ground finish makes it the practical choice for rings, discs, rods, tubes, plates and wear parts.

Because the material takes a fine ground surface, zirconia parts are used where a tight sealing face or a low-friction contact surface is part of the function.

Part forms we make in this material

Each form page carries the parts we have photographed, the tolerances we work to, and what we ask before quoting.

FORM 01

Ceramic Tubes

Straight and stepped tubes for high-temperature processing, insulation and conveying duty, supplied as-fired or precision ground.

FORM 03

Ceramic Rods

Solid and bored rods for structural, insulating and wear duty, machined to the diameter and length your assembly needs.

FORM 04

Ceramic Plates

Flat plates and substrates for insulation, support and wear surfaces, held to flatness and thickness requirements.

FORM 05

Ceramic Rings

Precision-ground rings used as sealing, guiding and insulating elements, with the bore, wall and chamfer finished to drawing.

FORM 06

Ceramic Nozzles

Nozzles and orifices for abrasive, corrosive and high-temperature flow, where a metal nozzle would wear out or contaminate the stream.

FORM 08

Ceramic Wear Parts

Wear liners, guides, bushes and contact parts that extend service life where metal surfaces abrade, gall or corrode.

FORM 09

Custom Precision Components

Engineered parts built from your drawing: grade selection, geometry, tolerance, surface finish and inspection defined with your application.

FORM 10

Ceramic Balls

Spheres held to diameter and roundness for valve, bearing and milling duty, supplied as-fired or precision ground and polished.

FORM 11

Ceramic Discs

Machined discs with concentric features for seats, wear faces and rotating duty, finished to the drawing on the functional face.

FORM 12

Ceramic Structural Parts

Machined blocks, brackets and spacers that locate, support or isolate inside equipment, built to your drawing and inspection points.

Made to your requirement

What is defined with you before production

  • Bore, wall and face geometry defined to your drawing.
  • Sealing and contact faces finished to the requirement of the application.
  • Tolerance band agreed against the fit in your assembly.
  • Grade selected for abrasion level and the medium in contact.

Supply stage

Sample part first, then batch production on the same material and process basis. Ask for the material data sheet with your quotation.
