FORM 05

Ceramic Rings

Ground rings and sealing elements for assemblies that must hold a bore or a face at temperature.

A ceramic ring is usually a fit: it holds a bore, seats a face or isolates a shaft. That means the diameters and the face flatness are the part — everything else is packaging.

We ask which diameter is the datum. Concentricity, wall thickness and face flatness all follow from that answer, and getting it wrong is the most common reason a ring is re-drawn after the first sample.

Made to your requirement

What is defined with you before production

  • Which diameter is the datum
  • Flatness of the face that seals or seats
  • Concentricity requirement, and between which surfaces
  • The medium, pressure and temperature at the seal

Supply stage

Sample part first, then batch production on the same material and process basis. Ask for the material data sheet with your quotation.
